ABOUT DEATH

He kicked the bucket
He passed away; expired.
He resigned his breath
Gave up his Earthly career
He ended his days, breathed his last
Ceased to live, departed this life
Was no more,
Popped off.
He relinquished!
Surrendered!
Yielded
Paid his debt to Nature
Shuffled off his mortal coat.
Took his last sleep,
Went the way of all flesh,
Joined the greater number,
The majority,
The invisible quire,
Turning to dust.
He crossed the stygian ferry
Going to his long account,
To his last home,
To Davey Jones's Locker,
The wall,
Having received his death warrant,
Made his will,
Going out like the snuff of a candle,
Coming to his ultimate end,
Going off the hooks
and
petering out.
He turned up his toes,
Lay lifeless; deceased,
Demised, departed, defunct;
He was late no more ;
Gone out of the world;
Taken off,
Released.
He had died, and was dead
Dead as a door post
Bereft of life,
Stone dead.
Dead as mutton, as a herring,
Launched into eternity,
Gathered to his Fathers,
Numbered with the dead, and gone to a better land,
Beyond the veil,
Beyond the grave,
He had taken his last gasp,
And given over.
He died
and was dead,
He was dead
For he had died, he was dead.
Had he not died
He would be alive.
He would have retained vitality
The vital spark,
The breath of life,
The flame.
He would be alive,
to
Breath, respire, subsist,
To walk the Earth,
Strut and fret his hour upon the stage,
Be spared,
See the light,
In the flesh he would be alive.
Thus he would be living,
Vivification; Prometheus.
Being dead
He is none existent,
Subsistent; inexistent
A none entity; a negativeness,
Blank, absent, nothing.
He had died out
Passed away
Perished
Disappeared.
He had melted away,
Dissolved
Gone without trace,
Null and void,
Unsubstantial; Extinct,
Departed, Gone,
He was dead.
