IF

If you offend yourself with the words I say,
'Tis your own defect that you thus display,
Though you may try to change my view to yours,
It serves but yet to strengthen my true cause.
For either you do furnish me with gain,
Or yet by silence do for yourself the same.
To agree or disagree, alters not a fact,
And what is done is true by its own act,
If we can't observe without a biased view,
That causes us to state what is not true,
Then what point is conversation; words at all,
Just sounds that on deaf ears random fall,
For only by actions can we truth express,
Words being formed our actions to address.
