You can persuade your eyes to see,
much beauty in a storm,
And note the elegance of the sea,
When its white caps rage and form.
As much you can make clouds deny,
the splendid morning sun,
for the world is subject to your eye,
when all is said and done.
You can a panoramic scene,
View as a dreary scape,
Or make a dismal Winter seem,
so beauteous and great.
And 'tis better that the grass be green,
When you mend the garden gate.
